Good morning everyone, hope you are all well and maybe enjoying some sunshine wherever you are.
I was meeting some friends for lunch the other day and I needed some petrol. I pulled up and started to fill up when an old man came out of the shop and started going towards his car, he could hardly walk, just shuffling really not lifting his feet and shaking quite a bit. I was shocked to see him eventually get into the drivers seat of a car that was so old I didn't even recognise the make (albeit it in good condition)
I went way over my usual £20 cos I couldn't take my eyes off him! Don't know what you all think but this really worries me to think that he is still driving. The roads are so busy nowadays and you sure have to have your wits about you, and certainly need quick reflexes everyday not just somedays. If he had been a parent of mine I wouldn't have wanted him behind the wheel, it's way too late when something has happened.
I finished filling up, went in to pay. put my purse and receipt away, put on my seatbelt and went to leave. The old man was still trying to put on his seat belt!
Hope I know when it's time to give up and the kids have been instructed.
Had mi moan lols.

Your creation is adorable and your coloring is perfect! How scarey to know that so many of our elderly who can hardly get around still find the need to drive the open highway (which as you said, are dangerous with your wits about you). I hope he made it home okay and someone hides his keys!!

I am so with you there Sue about the driving thing. It is scarey to think that there are so many elderly driving like that. I know some elderly people are still good drivers and like my Dad who is 79 he is really good for his age and still a good driver but he knows that probably within the next couple of years he will hang his keys up. If he was ever a danger on the roads I would be the first to take the keys away!!!. I still think that regular tests are needed for the elderly. This man obviously had a few health issues going on, not just old age to make him walk like this. This is why I get angry at the costs of public transport, it would i'm sure make it a lot easier for the elderly to get around. Ok ive had my high horse and will shut up about it now lol!!!.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! is all I can say about your card. Well maybe not as it is totally gorgeous and all the things I love. Red and white polka dots, LOTV stamp, doilies, lace, ribbon, need I go on!!!!. That is one amazing shape and will definitely want to give this a go. I have never seen one like this. Well done honey and thanks for sharing. Hugs Clare xxx
