Good morning to all and a special hello to my new followers Stephanie, Kevin and Desire, welcome to my blog. Hope you're all managing to keep warm.
The ice is so thick on the cars this morning I have just spent 20 minutes helping both my daughters scrape their cars off before they go to work. I really worry when it's so icy and they're out driving as I'm sure all of you that has kids that drive feel the same,
'call me when you arrive', I'm shouting as they drive off... you'll be lucky mum, I' m saying to myself, I remember not having a care about those things at their age!
Got to work yesterday morning to find someone had parked in my spot outside my shop and I had towels and stock to unload and a customer on the doorstep freezing to death, so I had to find out who's it was and wait for them to move it.
Then my appointment book was nowhere to be seen, not on the desk where I'd left it, and I searched everywhere, even in the toilet!!! so I had to work blind and just wait to see what came in through the door and when the phone rang it was a nightmare cos I didn't know what time to book them in case someone was already boked at that time, AARRRGGHH. Thank god all my customers are more like friends! Do you feel sometimes that there's someone playing tricks on you?
It finally turned up as the last customer was leaving, on the chair in reception, with a copy of 'That's Life' on top of it, Ha Ha, YEAH, right....... but we had already looked there TWICE.
Then would you believe it, I went to clean up and wash the pots......no hot water..... the flaming boiler had packed in and the radiators were clap cold OMG...
I could have cried. So I had to ring the boiler man and plead for him to come ASAP, cos I didn't want the pipes to freeze overnight and who's heard of a Hairdressers without hot water!!!
Of all the damned weeks to break down, my busiest time of the year.
Thankfully, he did arrive and assures me it's ok now.
Fingers crossed, nothing else goes wrong,
I need a holiday/
