Better late than never!

Hello my lovlies, seems like forever since I've blogged. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
Don't know about the rest of you but I'm sick of eating!!!
Bring on the diet......
Even my pooches and the cat are turning their noses up at meat, we may have just turned them into vegetarians lol.
In true me style, my door fell off my integral fridge on Christmas eve and because the door wouldn't then close properly the fan was whirring away non stop and making the most awful noise, I thought it was going to explode. My poor hubby had to get his tools from the garage and fix it as best he could, I burst into tears, I couldn't believe something else had broken and the dog ran to the top of the stairs shivering cos he was scared of the noise and wouldn't come down for ages.
Then Christmas day my bitch came on heat and OMG trying to keep the two apart was a nightmare. Every time someone opened a door and the two met it was like something from Benny Hill, we were chasing them round to seperate them again!!!
And there I was trying to impress the MIL with my nicely set table, matching tablecloth and napkins, best crockery finest wine and...... dogs faunicating under the table...... wonderful!!!!!
Why do I bother?

I hope all the rain hasn't affected anyones plans over the holidays. I feel so sorry for the people that had to evacuate their houses on Christmas eve. I live on the top of a hill fortunately but boy when the wind blows we sure know about it.

Well my daughter and myself managed to make the tissue boxes for the patients on Christmas Day YEAH and I think they went down quite well, despite one chap tearing it apart to get to the tissues.... and his poor wife trying to selotape it back together again..
Taken a few pics for you.
Couldn't fit them all on together.

Here are the measurements as promised albeit a little late.
I started out with an A4 piece of card. Measure across the top 19cms and trim off the rest (19 x just under 30cms)
Mark at 1cm - 3cm - 11cm - 3cm -1cm
Turn your card lengthways and from the bottom mark at 3cms - 6cms - 3cms - 6cms
Score on those lines as in diagram
The broken lines are for cutting.
The solid lines are for folding.

This is what it should look like when cut and folded.
My dotty oval shows where to put the aperture for the tissues.
Fold all the score lines and then decorate.
I cut the oval after decorating as I found this easier.
Folding forward forms the box shape

Not that good at explaining but hope you can follow, just ask if it's not clear.

All that remains is for me to wish you all the very best for a wonderful and prosperous New Year my friends.
Sooo looking forward to seeing all your fab creations in 2013.
Hugs Sue X.

  11. Oh Sue I am so sorry that things continued to be bad for you over Christmas. I am sorry but I did have to laugh at your description. Your postings always make me smile. It reminded me of when my posh SIL had come to stay and wasn't keen on cats. We were sitting in the garden and my cat brought this vole over and placed it in front of her. He then proceeded to pick it up again as the poor thing was frightened and hadn't run away. He then bit the head off of it right in front of her. Lol!!!

Your boxes are awesome and thanks for the instructions. Again had to smile as I would have been devastated if after all my hard work someone had torn it to shreds to get to the tissues.
