Back to normal

Hello mi lovlies, and welcome to my new followers, so pleased you've joined me.
Well things should be getting back to normal now the holidays are behind us (if there ever was a normal in my case)
The house always looks bare once the tree and the cards are taken down and why does it never fit back in the box from which it came.!
I always feel a little sad as a new year begins cos I miss my lovely mum and I suppose it's another year we move forward without her. We always go and take flowers for Christmas but with so much going on we were late. The flowers were in the garage waiting to go and on New Years Day I was in the bathroom when I noticed a white feather on the floor, now I suppose it depends how you think of things but we always say it's 'an angel keeping watch'
It brought a tear to my eye and as I put it in my hand I said out loud 'I know mum, I havem't been with your flowers yet, but I promise tomorrow'
My daughter came upstairs to ask what was taking me so long and when I told her we just sat and hugged then went downstairs.
A little while later my other daughter said to my youngest 'why have you got a white feather on your leg' OMG we just looked at each other in amazment. Cos I aint got feather pillows, duvets or birds etc and two white feathers in one morning and it being that day too, well she sure got her flowers I can tell you!!!
Well today sees the start of a new challenge over at Songbird.  You were all amazing last month with over 100 fantastic entries.
The challenge for the next two weeks is
'Paint It Black'
so we want to see your cards with black and one other colour.

  6. Oh Sue I know exactly how you are feeling about your Mum darlin. I find it excruciating as lost Mum on 17th Dec and her funeral was on Christmas Eve. I try and make the best of it as Mum loved Christmas time. I am so glad that you get your feather's from your Mum too!!! so do I. I say that Mum is sending me one of her feathers from her angel wings. I too have no feathers to explain them turning up. I have asked Mum for feathers and they usually turn up where I have asked her for them. I keep all of the feathers that she sends to me so I have quite a collection now lol!!!. You take care my lovely friend and keep all of those wonderful memories in your heart. Big hugs Clare xxxx

I have never received a sign like that from either of my parents so I'm not sure how I would react. Love your card! Thanks for playing along with Kenny K's Krafy Krew this week and good luck!

  31. Hi Sue. I came to look at your card and ended up reading your lovely blog. Really sorry to hear about your mum, I lost my dad just over ten years ago and I think about him every single day and I miss him more now than ever, he was such a dominant force in my life and you never forget them when they mean so much to you. I have never heard the feather thing before but I will be on the lookout now, of course it won't be easy to tell where it has come from in our house as we have three cats and two of them are on a mission to kill as many birds as they possibly can, so feathers regularly appear all over the living room during the warmer months!!
On to your card, I LOVE the colour scheme and I am really impressed with your colouring and how you have made a card that should be cold with all that blue and yet it comes across very warm, nicely done. Thank you so much for joining us this week over at the Kenny K Krafty Krew Challenge, hope we see a lot more of you in the future. Good luck and fingers crossed for the Candy too,
    Take Care
