Memories

Hello to all who pop by to visit.

Well wasn't really sure if I would ever be posting on here again or maybe just close it down.

It's been so long since I've posted and the reason is I lost my lovely Sister suddenly and have not really been able to concentrate on anything for very long without feeling overwhelming sadness.
She was older than me and was always there for me no matter what and I'd never had a day in my life that she wasn't there. I know there will be a lot of you out there who've lost a loved one and will know how it affects your life.
So here I am, encouraged by my daughter, with a card I'd made before.
This reminds me of Yvonne.
She went to a New Years Eve party in an outfit made by herself and I did her hair and make-up,
we had a right old giggle getting her ready.

This is the pic of my Sister.

Hopefully this will spur me on now I've posted again.

  1. Hi there, Sue! I can't even imagine the heartache of losing a sister. I have two and would be devastated at the loss of either one. I'm so glad your daughter encouraged you back to blogging. After the loss of my unborn twins, crafting was very therapeutic for me and helped me get through it.

Keep crafting and definitely keep sharing with the rest of the crafty community! We all love to see your lovely work!

  2. Oh sweetie I am so pleased to see you back with us. As you know I lost my beloved Tony nearly 21 months ago. I hope things get easier for you in time. You will never forget her of course but it is hard. Try to remember like with this card the happy & fun times. Joining The Salvation Army as a uniformed soldier has helped me terrifically. I am not suggesting this to be the avenue for you to take but you will find something that will help you gradually ease the pain.

  4. Hello Sue, I'm sorry to hear of your sad loss, but it sounds like you have some wonderful memories to sustain you through this difficult time.
Grieving takes time and there is no right or wrong way to do it, take your time and be gentle with yourself.
It's good however that you've managed to get back to crafting, being creative can certainly help, even for just a little while, Big Hugs Kate x

  6. Oh Sue my heart goes out to you. Six months ago I lost my younger sister who was also my best friend. She was diagnosed and gone in 10 days! The most awful time of my life. You will never get over this but in time you will learn to "manage" your grief. I sometimes have very low periods but this is natural. I do hope your crafting will help - you have already made this beautiful card. My mojo is still not back and my creations are still very simple but it helps to keep trying. Love and thoughts are with you. Christine xx
